Google Bad Review 1: We contacted Darren in January as we were experiencing pigeon nesting under our solar panels on the house roof. When my husband contacted Darren to request a quote to cover the panels with solar panel mesh he gave us 2 quotes: £640 for the front roof only and £700 for front and back roof. The quote was also inclusive of nest removing, pigeon removing and clean the gutter of fouling as I have all saved in text message. My husband asked also for spikes on the roof and Darren confirmed he could include those in the price too. We thought was a good deal therefore we agreed for front and back, as Darren suggested us.
On the agreed day Darren came along with his partner Del to do the job, and my husband was at home in case they needed something. I had to pop out for a GP appointment with my son as soon as they arrived. When I came back they had almost finished and soon after they came down the roof and packed their stuff. Me and my husband were very surprised that they had finished both sides of the roof in such short time and my husband asked Darren confirmation that both sides of the roof were done. Darren confirmed all job was done. Then my husband went outside to check the front roof and asked Darren again if also the panels at the back were completely covered all around. Darren became very annoyed and told my husband with such a rude attitude “I told you I have done it, why you asked me again! I will send you pictures of the back later!”. We were left speechless from such behaviour, but unfortunately the back of the roof is higher than the front and it was not possible for us to check it before they left, so my husband trusted Darren and paid him £700.
Later on, after they left we had chance to check the back of the roof and with our big surprise the solar panels were not covered with mesh. Then my husband texted Darren to ask for an explanation as he lied to us and took the full money anyway, and Darren reconfirmed that Del had covered the solar panels on the back roof and all the job was done. Then my husband sent Darren a picture of the solar panels not covered with mesh and he then changed his version saying that there was not enough space for the pigeon to nest underneath the panels and that’s why they haven’t done it and he had also cleaned the gutter and placed (very few) spikes for free (when it was already included in the quote he sent to us). Then again, my husband asked him for an explanation on why he lied to him and Darren, very rudely, told him to stop sending him messages. We were simply shocked. It goes without saying that Darren never sent us the back-roof panel ‘s pictures. Also, Darren said that Del would have called my husband to explain what he did, but he never called. Anyway, left with no other option we just had to accept the circumstances.
The weeks passed, and the pigeons were still not going away, and they were trying desperately to get underneath the solar panels covered with mesh. We really could not understand why, and we decided to check underneath the panels from the loft window. We were just heartbroken when we found dead chicks in the nest that has never been removed by Darren. He even didn’t inform us that there was an active nest and just covered the solar panels saying that because there were cables he could not remove the empty nest.
We have now notified the matter to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds because I am sure this was not the first time an active nest was trapped underneath the solar panels by Darren, however the chicks are now starved dead.
On top of that we still have the pigeon’s problem because now the pigeons moved from the front roof to the back roof and are nesting underneath the “uncovered” solar panels.

Google Bad Review (2): DO NOT USE!!!!! Please be sensible and check on the BPCA website for regulated companies or even your local Council.
We made the mistake in desperation of not checking properly and using Darren. Not only did he turn up hours later than the time he had provided us himself, which really threw us off with childcare. If he turned up on time, my kids would have been at nursery. I let him in and went off with my little one as we are ‘not supposed to be there’. Probably as we would witness him doing absolutely nothing. We literally prepared for days in accordance to the link he provided and he confirmed himself on arrival that yes, we have set it up as he needed. He was in and out in 20 minutes with having done what?!-only God knows. He told me it’s all fine and we don’t need to buy a new bed etc and does not require a follow up. We are in the same situation as before he came. We messaged him and asked him to come over and check again, which he agreed to do so. He gave us 2 dates and times convenient for him, but did not turn up. Now he is not responding at all. We paid him a lot for 20 minutes worth of doing nothing! Be warned, literally no good at all and doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
