Google Reviewer 1, Name (Bad Review):  Guy Pitchon

Google Bad Review 1:  Richard Morrey handled the funeral of my father in law in April 2018.

It was flawed in a number of ways.

Firstly, he refused to wait for my wife to arrive before starting to discuss arrangements with her step-sister. Bizarrely, my wife had arrived on time for the appointment, but had been ushered into another room and left wondering what was happening. The receptionist was so inept that she failed to connect that two people were there for the same meeting.

At the service itself, Mr Morray managed to hand the collection of donations to a random stranger, rather than to a member of the family. Fortunately the recipient asked around and the money eventually found its way to the appropriate person.

After the service we received notification at our address that we should come and collect the ashes. Unfortunately, the notification related to someone other than my father in law.

When we complained, we did not receive a response, albeit we did receive some flowers which we assumed was by way of some sort of apology.

A year later, the company contacted us again to try and sell us some kind of memorial product. None of us remember consenting to the company using our data for marketing purposes.

The last two concerns raise quite serious issues about how the company manages personal information. For a letter to be sent to our address giving very personal information about an unrelated individual is highly unprofessional. To not follow up the subsequent complaint shows a lack of respect towards their customers.

At a very difficult time, you place a lot of trust in a funeral director.

On this occasion Andrew Smith failed to meet the standards expected.

Sadly, my mum in law has now also recently passed away. It was an easy decision not use this firm again.

Google Good Review:  A thoroughly professional and highly respectful service is delivered by Andrew and his team. I couldn’t have hoped to have been in more sympathetic or caring hands when I recently lost my MUm.
