Google Bad Review 1: On 22nd June 2021 my wife and I used Saeed Abbassi of Magna to exchange £175,000 to Euros and transfer to a Spanish bank account. This was after incessant telephone calls repeatedly going over the procedure and not simply answering the questions asked. Also talking to my wife and I as though we were unable to understand anything about currency exchange. We asked what exchange rate we would get and he said he could not advise that as our deal was being piggy-backed on a much larger deal which we were told would benefit us. On the day, the prevailing exchange rate for GBP to Euros was 1.16 and he only managed to give us a rate of 1.13! At the time, we were under pressure to get the money transferred so when, on questioning the rate, went ahead with the transfer as Saeed assured us that this would be the best rate we would get. Since then, needing to transfer more money, we researched other companies and have transferred money with TORFX who have given us an exchange rate of 1.1679 when the prevailing rate at that time was 1.17 and everything was managed simply, quickly and efficiently without the uneccessary and overpowering input from Magna. Bearing in mind that this £9,000 is significantly less than our original £175,000 amount and Saeed had advised us and responded to another customer's feedback that larger values attract better exchange rates, the service provided by Magna was attrocious. If anyone asked me who to use for currency exchange, Magna would not be a name I would mention.

Google Bad Review (2): Recommended by an estate agent I contacted Osman and asked to convert 3000 euros. He said it wasn't worth converting such a ‘small' amount and smooth talked me into handing over £10000. I believed at the time all this money was to be converted into euros. In fact he just converted 3000 euros worth!
I found that almost every time my phone had a signal I would receive a call from Osman trying to get me to transfer more money. In the end I would deliberately put my phone on silent to stop his persistent calls
A month later I asked him to transfer another 3000 euros from the balance he held of mine but he told me that without filling in and returning forms etc I could not have the money as the recipient was a new beneficiary. I was told that if I wanted my money back I would have to fill in more forms and send more ID.As I was away on holiday at the time this was impossible.
Two weeks ago I needed to transfer more money and was told that I had to do it immediately if I wanted to catch the deadline. I needed time to think and asked him to call back. He didn't.
I then checked my emails and noticed that I had received an email stating I had requested a password reset for my online account – I hadn't requested one and had only ever logged in once before to add new beneficiaries. Osman said he had sent the password reset email as I hadn't logged in for ages.
When I logged into my account I noticed that I had a balance of zero. Of course I panicked. Knowing he was nearby I called him and was fed so many lies that I threatened to call the police as he said he could not get my money back at that time and that there was no one else that could help me do so. He said he had sent a password reset email as there had been multiple attempts to log in to my account from different IP addresses!! More lies… I also found that he hadn't converted the balance of my £10000 to euros – why on earth would I hand over that amount of money to him if it was not to be converted to euros. As I result I lost money on the exchange rate
Magna Financial uses bully boy aggressive tactics, try and pressurise you into handing over money when you don't need to and phone you constantly. I would rather receive a less favourable exchange rate and deal with companies that allow you to check the exchange rate in your own time and don't lie and hassle you.
