Google Bad Review 1:  Have been going here for years and always had positive experiences. Appointment before last for a facial felt very rushed and not at all relaxing but gave them the benefit of the doubt but had a massage booked for today and when I got there was told they were too busy to meet the booking!!! Not only was it very disappointing to turn up and be told it was cancelled but the whole atmosphere of the place was stressful, not what you want for a place like that. Lady doing nails in the reception area was also the receptionist, answering phones, taking monies in-between being back and forth to her client. Such a shame they seem to over stretched themselves and letting down clients. I unfortunately will never go back

Google Bad Review (2):  went for micro blading with Tracey , I did not complete consultation form or had patch test and was not asked any questions about any medical history. She was faffing about and when she finally decided to do the treatment she asked me to draw my eyebrows with a pencil she gave me from her makeup bag. She did not measure or use any tool and poured ink colour from a bottle looking like gene bottle which did not seem like a professional pigmentation bottle. I had to tell her several times how I wanted the shape of the eyebrows, all she kept saying was ‘ eyebrows are meant to sisters and not twins'. This lady does not do as you ask her and is not using professional products for Groupon clients. i have come away with both eyebrows looking different. Also if you want to show pictures of eyebrows she does not want to know. Her receptionist brought her cup of tea which she drank whilst doing my eyebrows, very unprofessional and she was also rummage through her handbag now and then. I now have to wait for my eyebrows to heal and go somewhere else to get them sorted. No regards to what customer wants, not hygienic and definitely not professional. Oh yes couch roll was not changed from the previous client.

Google Bad Review (2):  So it's taken me a while to write this review as I generally don't like to write negative reviews however, I feel I need to for this, below are a list of issues encountered.
* my appointment time was 5pm, however I was made to wait until 6pm before anyone did anything
* hairdryer used at Hair bar has only two settings – burn your scalp hot or cold. Once my hair was washed it was being dried with the mega hot setting, i flinched a few times as it burned my scalp (no heat protector was used).
* Janet drying my hair after keratin treatment, again scalp burns due to the scorching heat of the dryer with only two settings with the addition of hair being yanked and pulled – its is what a blow dry is called, my poor hair, so much came off from the brutal treatment.
* moving to the haircut, which was not actually bad until Janet cut my fringe, now i'm no professional but I have had my hair trimmed cut all my life so I know how a fringe should be cut, Janet cut it horizontally in one go, she didn't give it any body by turning her scissors vertically to give it shape and definition…
*at the end, in the Groupon voucher it clearly states £10 surcharge will be charged for long hair i.e. below should length, Jane herself told me about the surcharge when she saw the length of my hair which I agreed to, however at the end she tried to charge me £15, when pointed this out and showed her the fine print, she said for long hair it's £10-15, generally £15…! anyways she took £10 as this is what was agreed and what the fine print states.
* following this awkward moment, I couldn't wait to get out of the hairdresser and I left without being given after care instructions for the brazilian keratin treatment, luckily I have had this before so I knew what to do and as I have had it before I know that after three washes it's not supposed to start getting frizzy and my hair is defiantly damaged from their blow drying techniques..
I know this place has received some good reviews but I had a bad experience and after three weeks since I had my treatment I felt the need to write this review because of the condition of my hair which I feel is a direct result of Janet from the hair bar!

Google Bad Review 1:  I’m not happy with their customer service first time i booked appointment one month ago with one of their stuff for Dermalogica but she was sick and they cancelled my appointment and booked for the next week but they cancelled again because of their stuff when they call me to arrange new appointment i said let me call you back but next day i’ve got text and email that we are waiting for you on your time , when i went to salon they said you had to call us to arrange new appointment, text and email always send automatically to who have booked online and sorry about that .
I became very sad and i paid deposit they didn’t refund until i sent them email and asked for it, after two weeks they refund , I informed them about money back by email but they didn’t respond to my email at all .

Google Bad Review 1:  The blonde lady who cut my hair did such a fabulous job!! However, I had a major issue with the director and price which I can see from previous reviews has also happened before. Also the owner has decided to respond saying it's “false information” more than a year after I posted it. I would not have taken the time to write this if it was false – and you can read another review below with a very similar issue.

I had booked using the treatwell website where I indicated I have long hair (past the shoulder) and was quoted £35. In the t&c it says that if they cut it MORE than 3 inches you may be subject to pay more – fair enough.

When it came to payment the director stated that I have to pay £10 more than the quoted price because I have long hair. I explained I ticked the correct box for length (and it’s not like my hair was down to my waist or anything) and showed her and said it’s pretty clear so I’m not okay with that. She then said oh it’s because we cut more than 3 inches! I had in fact asked for 3 to be cut. Anyway in good faith I said let’s do £40 not £45 and she became so angry. (I felt that was fair because at first she stated long hair was the reason for the increase and once I reasoned against that, she applied the 3 inches rule! Also while I was mid treatment, I saw another lady go to pay and the director said oh we are going to charge you more than quoted price for whatever reason, that lady seemed to accept it, but hey I felt I had my reasons!) Anyway the director started yelling in front of all her staff and called me names. I reiterated politely that £40 seems fair and she said fine. But then she kept going on about this long hair business and how busy she is and in doing so sort of spiralled and totally lost her cool that she went back on the £40 compromise and instead called me more names and said never come back (not that I had any intention to) and to pay the £35 because she’s too busy with other people. She kept saying I am the Director and I’m so busy (like no one said you weren’t honey, but it made me think then as the director you should be better with customers and stuff- I was wrong!) So I guess I did get what I was quoted but oh my what an experience!

Absolutely unprofessional for a director, but I have to say the blond lady GAVE ME A GREAT HAIRCUT! It’s such a shame it ended this way. Anyway if you’re going there for the first time maybe show them your length and ask if there are any other hidden / not so obvious costs before your treatment so you don’t have to deal with her unreasonable and unprofessional manner at the end which just ruins the whole experience.

But for anyone totally looking to avoid the drama and still get a great haircut / blow dry, there’s a places called central studios a little down the road which charge £42 and before your wash/cut/ blow dry + they do explain when/ where extra costs come into play so you’re aware before and it’s not sprung on you! And this place does shellac nails for about £20, but central studios does it for £15!

Called up to book a wash cut blow dry for medium length hair, was told it would cost £35 And as a new client 20% off which made it £28.
Went in got a standard bob cut and they wanted to charge me £45!!!!
Apparently going from medium length to a bob was a complete re-style and a wash cut and blow dry means a trim only…..she knew nothing of my phone agreement.
She then offered me the 20% discount and I ended up paying the normal price of £35.
Make sure you know what you're letting yourself in for.

Very unclean (double dipping, which is inexcusable when waxing an intimate area), wax was particularly hot and she used way more wax I've ever seen used before, veryyy painful (no talc used and went over the same area up to 3 times )

Im aware the wax should be hot, and I know enough needs to be applied to get the results, and I know they're painful but this isnt my first time and I know what should be expected

Google Bad Review 1:  I booked an appointment at gorgeous emporium for a microdermabrasion facial and unfortunately my experience was terrible. The facial was rushed from start to finish which made the whole experience very uncomfortable and far from relaxing. Since this facial I’ve had problems with my pigmentation which the company has refused to take ownership. This issue has still not been resolved due to the ‘busy festive period’. I recommend a microdermabrasion facial with Carly as she was absolutely fantastic and my skin felt amazing – could not recommend her enough!

Google Bad Review 1:  I had a bikini wax ONCE here and I'll never go again.

Very unclean (double dipping, which is inexcusable when waxing an intimate area), wax was particularly hot and she used way more wax I've ever seen used before, veryyy painful (no talc used and went over the same area up to 3 times )

Im aware the wax should be hot, and I know enough needs to be applied to get the results, and I know they're painful but this isnt my first time and I know what should be expected

for a name branded salon I really expected a better service

Google Bad Review (2):  Had my micro blading done a few years ago and when it started turning green Sylvia mentioned I needed a top up which I did in 2017. It has been nearly 5 years now and it is not fading away and looks green like a tattoo and nothing like micro blading. I also went to a few experts and they said it has been too deeply penetrated into the skin so it’s more like a tattoo and I would need to spend more money to get it laser removed. Maybe I was just an u lucky one but I really do regret it. Eyebrows can make or break your face so I would be careful before choosing where to go.
