Google Bad Review 1:  Considering we spent an extraordinary amount on my uncle's care we had to give notice, as they were providing us with inadequate carers and with little to no contact with the management team. This company put the onus on profit before the needs of a client.

Google Bad Review (2):  Beware the shiny marketing and outstanding CQC reviews! This is not Care but business with a capital B – ever more so since Sodexo took ownership. Expect a high proportion of staff who have never before worked for the agency (or much in care at all), an annual fee increase well above that of inflation, and an environment that places the onus on clients to ‘manage’ and support Carers (many of whom complained that they had never met or received a regular call from their managers, and were on poor pay despite the eye-watering client fees).

My family used TGGC to support our mother for almost 2 years and had a very mixed experience to say the least, culminating in being unceremoniously given 30 days’ notice that they would not be finding a new carer to support us in the height of the last lockdown (they failed to acknowledge any duty of care, with no willingness to flex and extend the notice period by even a week, despite two Carers being willing and available to continue to support while they made their search).
It seems highly unlikely to be coincidental that this decision came a month or so after our agreement to increase fees by 3% (already well above 0.5% inflation rate) and not the desired 5%.

The level of care was in the main poor to average – one or two excellent and genuine Carers mixed in with a majority who were ‘new’ to the agency (and often care), and despite being told they had completed extensive training, failed to carry out basics such as putting breaks on a wheelchair before someone gets in, preheating an oven, or keeping a fridge and kitchen bacteria-free. Some were simply not caring or kind at all – one leaving my mother distressed for months after being shouted at rather than supported during a time of need.

In TGCG’s only defence, the Managers we dealt with always acted quickly to remove and replace unsatisfactory Carers, though the business as a whole had a tendency to place the onus of the issues on the client rather than admit to their poor quality staff and resourcing issues. The constant issues, poor quality team and lack of stability caused our mother significant distress and anxiety issues, setting back her condition by months.

I’m delighted to say that, while their callous decision to serve us with notice in January may have caused undue stress to our family, it has resulted in us finding an amazing agency and carer team (at 80% of TGCG’s cost for 200% of the support and value), and bearing witness to huge improvement in our mother’s wellbeing and happiness. I cannot in any way recommend starting on a journey with TGCG now that we have seen and experienced what care should really be.

Google Bad Review 1:  Says everything really when the team are writing reviews themselves, Sarah Kendrick works there!

I’m so disappointed with this company first off I met a nice lady at interview she told me my hours where most desired, then a few weeks later someone else emailed and said the hours I couldn’t work where most desired, I then waited weeks for online training which was sent to me a week prior to the face to face training I completed hours of training unpaid to them turn up to face to face training which was also unpaid and I paid a cab to get to! To be told I cannot come in as an email was sent at TEN at night to say I need a COVID test baring in mind I had to be there for 10am the following morning! They called me two days prior this was not mentioned, the lady Sarah is very rude and in empathetic, this is by far the worst I’ve ever been treated I’m out of pocket and wasted so much time! They are clearly very disorganised aswell

They guaranteed that after my jumpstart for the next 45mins (the duration of the drive to charge the battery) they will come back and give me another jumpstart. I went for an hour drive and got back to the location where they provided the jumpstart. I stopped the car, the battery was flat again. I called and asked them for another jumpstart and they refused because I was 15mins out of the guarantee. The guy said he'll come if I pay another £20 for the petrol. I found their service really unprofessional.

Google Bad Review 1:  Unfortunately, they are not professional, if you can stay away. I asked them to come for a jump start, which they charged me £60. They guaranteed that after my jumpstart for the next 45mins (the duration of the drive to charge the battery) they will come back and give me another jumpstart. I went for an hour drive and got back to the location where they provided the jumpstart. I stopped the car, the battery was flat again. I called and asked them for another jumpstart and they refused because I was 15mins out of the guarantee. The guy said he'll come if I pay another £20 for the petrol. I found their service really unprofessional.
