Google Bad Review (2): My first visit to Dr Keith’s office was very professional and pleasant. The second soured very quickly.
I am a nervous patient who has had a lot of work done in the past – some of it not very well. On a second visit to Dr Keith, I came for a tooth that was previously filled but had cracked and was now quite sore. I arrived 15 minutes late, but emailed the office before I arrived to provide notice and apologise (I am currently wearing a cast which slows me down).
When Dr Keith began examining me, it felt a bit rushed and he expressed concern over the sore tooth. When I asked him why he was numbing a different side of my mouth (for an entirely different tooth) he snapped.
He told me that there wasn’t enough time for the sore one. He add that he was the dentist, and said that my questioning was undermining his authority. He said I was a “difficult case” and he would be “embarrassed” to be me and show up 5 minutes late, let alone more than that, to an appointment.
Within seconds of having my mouth numbed, I was kicked out.
This was a startling turnaround from when he began treating me. If my tardiness was such an issue, he should not have begun any treatment. I also don't see why it was unacceptable for me to ask him to prioritise treating the sore tooth.
Before today I would have raved about Dr Keith, and said that the pricey treatment (almost 300 pounds for one filling) was perhaps worth it. After being blacklisted for asking him to treat a painful tooth first, I find him quite temperamental for a health care provider.
While I am sure he is perfectly pleasant with some patients, as he was with me on my first visit, I cannot say I would recommend for those who want some say over their treatment.
