Google Bad Review:  I am not a client but I am a person who lives very close to the owner of Coco Care. When you are leaving your dog to this lady, you probably wants to know what they are ACTUALLY doing during the time.

Let me tell you, the dogs are barking and fighting all the time. I am very educated with dogs so I am not writing this to shame the business. I think it is a brilliant idea that someone can take care of your animal whilst you are at work/ travel etc. All dogs barks from different reasons. They might be scared, playful or aggressive. In this situation the dogs are neither. They are just barking for the sake to bark. You can clearly see and hear the difference. When a dog is just barking and barking for up to 10 min without anyone being close or anything it is clear that the animal needs more discipline.

It can also be because they are bored because they are not our walking as much as she claims. I work at home so trust me I see that they are not going out for a walk as much as they should.

Also when your dogs are barking like crazy in the garden like crazy it can take up to 20 min before the owner of the business tells the dogs to be quiet. She is talking to the dogs like they are kids, you cannot use nice and calm words/ tone with a dog. Dogs are animal and YOU needs to show who is the boss and the leader. When the dog doesn’t follow your rules it should be an punishment straight away.

I have been growing up with Wolf dogs, German Shepard, pit bulls and Perro de Presa Canario, and I have never experienced such a bad manners. Perro de Presa Canario is one of the most dangerous dogs in the world whilst a chihuahua is very small and not aggressive (Unless you let them be aggressive). Control your small dogs or get someone else to do it because I had enough.

Google Bad Review:  I do not recommend Bark and Birch based on my own experience with my 3 dogs attending all for different reasons. One has anxiety reactivity, one was attacked and lacked confidence and I had a new puppy with high energy and dominance issues. All 3 dogs were kept more than double the planned time frame and none of them have shown results. My puppy was taken to a vets and treated with antibiotics for vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss and green discharge from his nose which B&B failed to inform me, even though we were in daily communication due to lack of results at that point. I received a call from a concerned party who had knowledge of the vet visit which B&B tried to deny initially until I had confirmation from the vet directly. At no point was consent given to take my dog to a vets without my knowledge. Conversations held with various parties at Bark and Birch confirmed lack of trainers to the number of dogs at the time of my dogs boarding so the daily welfare of the dogs were impacted as they were left in crates for long periods of time hence why results were not seen because the training wasn’t sufficient. I was informed dogs are not in kennels with a run, they are kept in crates In a barn but this can not be confirmed as I was not given access to see for myself. I have also since done research and B&B do not have an Animal Activity License, which was confirmed to me in writing by Runnymede Council (contact the environmental health dept there and check for yourself). This means they are not licensed to have any form of animal activity on site. They have not been assessed to ensure best practise and in my case B&B are in breach of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.The agreement gives B&B the right to extend the time frame of having your dog and providing results for as long as 90 days without you having any rights to contest this and be able to collect them and get a refund. If you cancel the agreement before 90 days you lose your money and B&B are then released from the agreement and commitment to give results. My dogs have come home with more issues than they went with and are showing very clear signs of anxiety and stress that has given my vet and I concern. When I received the call from a recent member of staff with concerns for my dogs welfare I drove to collect my dogs immediately. On arrival l could see my dog had an awful ear infection causing both his ear canals to completely close from swelling and raw skin around the ears from him scratching them.
The purpose of this review is to warn and advise any dog owners considering B&B to ensure they research what they are sending their dog to and to see the warning signs if you do send your dog and do not see results, as the team there are very good at convincing you all is well when it isn’t. If you take one thing from this review, please let it be that you at least check they are licensed to have your dog on site and they have increased the number of qualified trainers to volume of dogs!
