Google Bad Review 1:  A very disappointing experience with Monster Cleaning unfortunately in NW6. They visited, claimed they were not comfortable with attempting some services such as paint removal (despite it being a builders clean requested…) and offered some money back.

Whilst this sounds fine in principle, once we expected the clean, we found they hadn't even wiped surfaces in kitchen cupboards that were modestly above head height. This clearly indicated no effort was made to provide even the most basic of clean, let alone one described as a ‘builders' level. I would've been unhappy if I had paid £60, let alone £200+.

Worse still – lack of responsiveness in attempting to reach a compromise with them is indicative of how little they care about customers – we are waiting 10 days now without someone coming back to us to find a better solution.

Google Bad Review (2):  I am extremely disappointed with Monster Cleaning as a potential first-time customer. All I can say is they are a totally unprofessional company who make up their terms and conditions as they go along, and whose staff turn up not with a “can do” attitude but rather a “might do if we feel like it” attitude even after you make an agreed arrangement and wait patiently for 5 days for a booking.

My booking was made on Tuesday with the hope that I would get a booking within the next couple of days and although there were slots available due to the unknown parking restrictions at my property I was told I would have to wait till the weekend before I could be booked in as it was free parking on the Sunday. A quote was written up and emailed to me with all my requirements, price and time agreed.

On the Sunday two cleaners, a man and a woman turned up on time and we entered the property with my partner and I going through the job requirement pointing out areas as stipulated in our email. There are two flights of stairs and it appears this should have been indicated as such which I felt wasn’t really a big deal and was happy to pay any additional amount if need be however the male cleaner seemed to want to focus on this minor issue and said he would call his office. He exited the property for over 20 minutes and sat in his car while we waited to hear back from him and have this issue resolved. Having not heard back from the cleaner sat in his car we decided to call the office. A conversation with a female sales consultant transpired which ended with the consultant saying she would phone the cleaner. After another 15 minutes passed without any feedback from either the cleaner casually sat in his car or the office sales consultant we once again decided to call the office. It was at this point that I realised I was dealing with cowboys as during the conversation I was now being told that I would need to pay 50% upfront for the 4 hours cleaning work, something that during my numerous conversations with the company had never ever been mentioned. I also re-read through the terms stated in their email to me and once again nowhere was it mentioned that 50% of the cleaning fee needed to be paid upfront before the work was carried out.

What was stated however was the following:

“We do request the payment to be made in cash upon completion of the job.”

and

“Please, note that when arriving on site we keep the right to amend the price if the description given differs from the actual size and condition of the property.”

Nowhere in their email to me was it stated that 50% payment needed to be made upfront. As I challenged the sales consultant on this fact rather than seek resolve she then refused to do the job I had waited 5 days to have done. Even when I asked if the money could be paid via bank transfer this too was refused, with her stating that if I wanted to pay by bank transfer the payment should have been made the day before. Totally contrary to what was written in their email communications to me.

I am greatly disappointed by this company and reading some of the other feedback here it seems like I’m not the only one. A complete waste of time, stay away from these cowboys and save yourself hassle.
