Google Bad Review 1:  We are extremely disappointed with Restoration 1!! We had a sump pump failure and not only did they overcharge us, I was reassured by Restoration 1 that our carpet could be used once it was dried. They did dry it but was not done properly. We had 3 separate carpet companies come out and tell us that this carpet cannot be used, restoration one did not lay it down flat after drying so all of the backing is now coming apart. Restoration 1 also did not remove the trim around the doorways which are now swelled up and have to be replaced. They also did a horrible job ripping up the baseboards to the extent where the paint is peeling off. So we basically could've saved so much time and money if we just threw out the carpet in the first place. Another company actually was shocked they didn't put all of our furniture in a pod before starting the drying process – this was something that is normal!

Google Bad Review (2):  Very poor (nearly non-existent) customer service and unreliable performance. I had a leak under the kitchen sink that warped the cabinet floor. The initial person took readings and informed me this was a huge problem, as water had run under the cabinet and then under all my kitchen ceramic tiles, meaning the floor would have to be torn up, as the vapor barrier was compromised (despite the fact the tile was set on concrete). When my insurance adjuster got involved and asked questions I did not know to ask, R1 started to backtrack about how serious a problem I had, saying we would have to wait until initial remediation was done to see if the flooring would need to be taken up. They said they would set up a dehumidifier that day, as it was essential to get rid of any water immediately. Two days later, they returned to set up the dehumidifier (in the meantime, I had been running an industrial fan myself). They told me the machine would run 3 days and they needed to take readings everyday. They never showed. On the 3rd day, in response to my call, someone came out and, still without taking any readings, turned off the machine. He then left it sitting in my kitchen, as his vehicle would not accommodate it.
Again, I had to call to get them to take the next step, which was to remove the cabinetry under the sink and treat the issue. They removed the cabinetry and sprayed some stuff under the sink, but still took no readings as to the water under the floor and gave me no information beyond telling me I would need to contact the person who did the initial assessment. They do not do the restoration of what they tear out, but had told me they had companies they worked with to cover that. Yet, they never arranged for this and never gave me any contact for this. I tried several times to contact the initial assessor, but got no response. So, my cabinetry was left gaping and received no information as to whatever else was needed to remediate.
Eventually, I had to call another water remediation company, who restored my cabinetry and told me there was no water issue under my flooring.
Restoration 1 was a huge mistake. Their customer service was abysmal and unresponsive, and their assessment was unreliable. They left me feeling like the assessment was not based on my actual situation, but whatever they could get away with adding on to increase their fees.
I strongly recommend you avoid this company.
