Google Bad Review (2):  Buyer Beware

After my basement flooded I contacted Advantaclean who dispatched an individual to provide a quote. I was given an oral estimate which included the number of fans and dehumidifiers per day. I was also given a price to remove baseboards. After 2 days I asked to confirm estimate and provide the total amount of expense that I had incurred thus far. The representative reiterated the cost per machine per day, cost for baseboard removal and cost for sanitizing the floors. Based upon his cost estimate and his recommendation I kept many of the machines for a third day.

I now received the written estimate with the invoice in the same email. The estimate (and invoice) is over $600 more than what I received as an oral estimate. Items in the written estimate that were not included in either oral estimate included $337 for equipment decontamination, $160 to set up/take down/monitor equipment and a $112 service call call. While some of these may be legitimate expenses, they were never disclosed in either instance when I asked for an itemization. Be sure to obtain a written estimate before having any work performed.

I would also suggest removing all baseboards yourself. I have significant damage to both the baseboards and walls. I did email the company and expressed these concerns to them prior to writing this review. The response I received was justification for their actions as opposed to ownership of the problem with an attempt to resolve the issue.
