Google Bad Review (2): After many good visits to azzurro we went here this evening for my sons birthday and the food was fine but the wine was awful !! We asked for a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and it wasn’t great . Next time round we asked for a bottle of Pinot Grigio, which was basically the same tasteless wine with the same label saying “Pinot “ instead of Sauvignon Blanc …after 2 sips I asked do you have another bottle of Pinot or Sauvignon please as this is tasteless and she said I will check, 10 mins later and with the hump ( also after a phone call) she says sorry we do not have another bottle of Pinot or Sauvignon blanc and offered us 2 other types of wine . after 30 +years of eating out this Is the first time I have complained about the wine so that tells you how bad it was . My dad asked for a normanno ( brandy coffee) no / if any brandy in it !! . We paid the bill inc 2 bottles and gratity ( now wishing I had queried that )
I’m not sure if this restaurant has changed hands since last year but the staff are different and no way is it as good as it used to be ……. we will not be returning !!
