Google Bad Review 1: I was referred to A.L.O. by the orthopaedic surgeon that visited me following an injury on my ITB. I contacted Gloria to find out more about the practice. She had a very salesy approach which kind of surprised me considering the nature of the services provided. After realising my reluctancy due to the hefty session fee, she managed to convince me by offering a heavy discount: from £140 to £100 per session. I decided to give it a go. During a period of 4 months I had 18 sessions with Andre totalling £1800. A month after I was seeing Andre, he tried to convince me to come twice a week and have an extra session with another member of the team. I told him that I couldn't afford spending £800 a month in physiotherapy treatments. Andre is a great guy but too greedy and money hungry. Any ethical professional in this space should have come up with a plan by guaranteeing certain results after a number of sessions. If it was for Andre, I was probably still going there once a week. After 4 months I decided to stop as I wasn't seeing any improvements in my leg nonetheless I was following Andre instructions to the letter in terms of exercises to do at home. I am an ex semiprofessional tennis player so I am very focused and determined when it comes to physical activity. Following Andre's advice I even bought a balance ball and a wobble balance board. During the treatment Andre came up with a theory that according to him my ankle was the reason of my troubles. This was never confirmed by the different consultants that I have visited prior and after. To me it sounded just like a way to convince to work on another part of my body and keep having more sessions.
Most of Andre's sessions were based on having treatments with the Tecar machine. Andre sold me such therapy as something revolutionary which is widely used in Spain and Italy and rarely found in clinics in the UK. Again, no benefits whatsoever, just a very pleasant sensation on my leg. There was also another machine that he used, don't recall the name, (see pic attached). Andre kept saying that he was seeing improvements but I knew that my leg was still sore and not getting any better. Finally I decided to have another consultation and following an ultrasound it was clear that I had some liquid in my ITB that needed a small injection to be removed.
Physiotherapy would have not fixed my situation.
If you decide to use this clinic I strongly recommend you to agree on a maximum number of sessions before seeing some sort of improvement, and if that's not the case walk away before you spend way too much money.
