Google Bad Review 1: Pre-vehicle purchase service an absolute rip off. I paid £120 and was promised a inspection lasting a minimum of 1 hour and a written report. The guy turned up and did 20 mins then left. I never received a written report, instead I had a 3 min call from a guy that did not speak very good English at all. I couldn't understand a word. In summary I was told the car was fine, so I brought it only to then find out there were a number of issues with it (body and mechanically) that had I known, I would never have purchased the car. I wished I had gone with the RAC. These guys are cowboys. I made a formal complaint and didn't care to speak to them after. No offer of a refund, nothing. Absolutely useless. You've been warned. If I could give zero stars I would.

Google Bad Review (2): I used Mekaniks before to replace Ignition coils on my BMW 325i; everything went smoothly so I decided to use them again to check an issue with the rear brake seizing; what a bad decision and nightmare that turned out to be.

1st Visit – Initial diagnostics by the Mobile mechanic revealed that the Calliper had to be replaced. I decided to have both Rear Callipers replaced along with Brake Pads and Discs. The work was done after having to wait a few days for the parts; after the brakes were bled I advised the mechanic that the pedal seemed too soft. I was told that this would adjust fairly quickly and it would be ok, the handbrake was also very high and despite requesting that it be adjusted, little had changed. On the first night I drove the car another vehicle suddenly came out of a side road in front of me; I applied the brakes and barely avoided hitting the vehicle as the pedal went rather low, almost hitting the floor.

2nd Visit – Called the next day to complain and mechanic came out again. Was advised that the housing plate where one of the callipers sits was rusty and needed to be replaced, to be fair I was advised of this at first however I was told that it should be ‘alright'. Advised of the handbrake being too high but when I got the car back I'm certain nothing was done to it as it was the same.

3rd Visit – Mechanic came and fitted the Calliper housing plate, again despite being assured the handbrake would be tightened this did not transpire. Was advised that all was now OK with the vehicle.

I hardly drive the vehicle and hence it was a few days after the 3rd visit that I used it to drive to a friends house not that far away. About half-way there I suddenly heard quite loud metal ‘crunching' and ‘grinding' noises coming from the rears brakes. Every time I applied the brakes it was like parts were being taken apart; I had to turn around and barely made it home. God only knows what damage had been done to the car.

The next day I called Mekaniks but to my shock and amazement I was told that the same mechanic would be sent out to take a look. I of course categorically refused and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I insisted that another mechanic come to look at the car but Mekaniks refused to send someone else. I was told I could bring the vehicle to their premises, I advised the car was not driveable. A tow was needed and without any shame or acceptance of any fault they wanted £110 to arrange a tow; insult added to injury especially after I paid close to £640 for the job.

I refused but had no choice to agree to pay for half of the tow costs. After waiting for 4 days the car was ready. The Calliper plate was not fixed properly which caused the calliper to move freely. No parts were changed, given al he crunching and grinding I heard I find it very hard to believe that no parts were damaged. I sometimes drive to work from London to Milton Keynes, I dread to think of what could of happened if I had applied the brakes at 70-80mph.

Needless to say that I will NEVER use their services again; what should have been a simple job turned out to be prolonged agony that lasted for weeks, and to boot they didn't acknowledge their mistakes and made me pay half for the tow!!
