Google Bad Review: I read the reviews online and was put off but my elderly parents/family came last minute to visit so sourcing an affordable hotel was difficult within the area. We checked in and everything was as expected, a hotel that’s acceptable for a short stay. It was just so unfortunate that on their first night the fire alarm went off, resulting in an evacuation at 5am and took 1 hour to sort out with the fire brigade! Of course, this triggered the lifts to not work so they (and other guests) had to walk 8 floors up and down, not an easy feat being 70+. They then didn’t have hot water for the morning and went to try out breakfast. Like previous reviewers, they said the selection was limited and food warm. They ran out of a lot of items. This didn’t get off to a great start for the weekend. Glad to say the next day (today) no fire alarms and there was hot water. However, this morning’s breakfast it was worse than yesterday as most of the items were ran out and the queue was huge! So verdict is the breakfast quality is poor, easier to hop onto the DLR and go into canary wharf for some breakfast. I really wanted to give this hotel the benefit of doubt as I know new hotels there are teething issues but it’s now opened for 1 month and you’d think it’s all ironed out. To have several evacuations in a month, poor breakfast quality and understaffing is unacceptable (from previous reviewers) after one month of opening. I hope these issues will be sorted out soon and a refund can be issued!
