Google Bad Review (2): If I could, I wouldn’t even given them 1 star! We recently bought a flat in a development managed by Burlington and we had issues from day one. Our on solicitors struggled to get all the necessary for the purchase and several times we risked missing the completion date. They managed to misplace legal documents and after almost 5 months they didn’t even manage to properly list us as flat owner. And this is the least of the issues.
The company has an extraordinary amount of staff turnover, which doesn’t belong in a properly run business. In just over half a year we witnessed at least 4 property managers resigning; all of whom states that they had been headhunted, which begs the question of what’s happening behind closed doors.
The are champions of incommunicado! They never reply to emails and when they do, we never clear cut answers. More worryingly, they have announced they’ll increase the service charge by a substantial amount and will let go of some of the staff on the property, but when asked for a yearly financial statement or to see the books pertaining our property they do not provide clear explanation. Now thankfully the leaseholders are getting together to complain for an appalling
The list goes but I want to keep this review relatively short.
My only word of advice is to ask who the managing company is when you are on the market for a flat, especially if it’s a leasehold. Do your due diligence and if possible as existing flat owners what their experience is. If the property is managed by Burlington consider twice buying the property. Otherwise you’ll be in for a real treat.
